One Purpose

Sat Apr 25, 2009, 9:08 AM
I purchased a small subscrpition today for one purpose:

To express how freaking cool, :icondragon-kiss:*Dragon-Kiss is.

He recently did a little expose on DA's stock community, and i have to be very honest here. I am not only really impressed with the amount of stock that this artist has gone through and manipulated, I'm astounded by his ability to tell a brief story in each image as well as give a playful jest at the stock community as a whole.

So please, take the time to view these images, and find all the fun little treats that :icondragon-kiss:*Dragon-Kiss has crafted for us.

I might think of something.

No studio for now.
So no more stock for a bit.
Seems to be the trend.

C'est la vi.

A call to all stock-artists!

SUPER STOCK FIGHTER II TURBO HYPER DEATHMATCH ALPHA PI DA-EDITION Ver.13 1/2

Okay you can thank ~Slylock-Stock for inspiring me to do this.

I have been playing A LOT of fighting games recently. Not sure why, maybe my internal clock realizes that Street Fighter IV is on the horizon and I am instinctively picking back up the older games to get into the groove of mastering 2D fighting.

Side note: I can not wait to play as El Fuerte [link]

So I issue a sort of a massive collaboration to all the stockers out there, and a challenge as well. Create a fighter. Create their moves (sprite sheet) and upload it. Send me a link, and I'll collect them on a character select list.
Who knows, this could then turn into a contest where the only prize is the title of Super Stock Fighter Champion, a title that is sure to be coveted amongst all stockers.

Don't know what a sprite sheet is? Look here: [link]

Create your very own stock fighter (ie:Custom character)! Are you one of the character's in your previous stocks? Or something entirely new and never before done?

Things to include:
Character select portait
Character select stance
Intro Taunt
Victory Pose
Defeate Pose
Victory Portait
Moves

BONUS:

Things to do if you wanna look cooler
-Go over the top
-Submit a character ID similar to those pixel IDs that where all the rage a while back :thumb61928891:
-Multiple costumes
-originality

FaQ:
-I have multiple people that do stock on my account...
Let 'em join, the more the merrier.

-When do I need to have this done?
We are all busy, so you have until February. :D

-Why should I do this?
Cause it's awesome.

-Does it have to be fighting moves?
Of course not. If you have crazy move ideas, DO THEM!

-Any tips?
Make your character symmetrical that way you don't have to take twice the photos! ;)

-Did you contact all my favorite stock artists?
Probably, not (I did spam quite a few though). So let them know about this! ;)

-Can we take moves form other fighting characters?
Yes, but add your won flair. ;)

Something BIG

Tue Oct 21, 2008, 11:17 AM
Is likely to happen soon...that will involve all of your favorite stock artists (unless they wuss out).

I'm excited. Hopefully it can get pulled together.
